That isn't exactly respect, especially when worded like that. You can't just generalize ALL atheists and call it truth.
I'm an atheist, but I don't go around saying that religious people are "ignorant blind retards", which I could very well say is true, based on many religious people I've met.
But I know they aren't ALL that way, so I try my best not to sound rude.
And, well, I know I'm not blind or retarded.

I can only say that I have no proof either way, so I find it foolish to commit myself to something I'm not even sure of. I would rather not follow something blindly when I have no proof.
I've just seen too many beautiful and terrible things to believe that any sort of god exists, and I have had many issues with the practices and the "rules" of religion in general.
And notice how I never said I wasn't ignorant, and to assume that all are ignorant is ignorance in and of itself.
